Within the 21st century, societies are changing. From the time that there was a lack of food and an excess of time; nowadays, time is very limited and there is an oversupply of food in terms of quantity and variety. Paradoxically, it is also now that we know the least about raw materials and consumption of processed foods is the highest. It is for this reason that we are starting to become concerned with what we eat and to appreciate natural ingredients.
Foodation is a precinct where the youth can gather and socialise within a collective and collaborative space. A centre that focuses on the history of food whilst educating about food production, history, guidance through the processes of making and night food markets. Utilising sensorial integration and tactical architecture, the concept of connectivity and collaboration through food is explored. Bringing together the Aboriginal culture of the site and food culture throughout the world, a multicultural society through food is evolved.
