My proposal for the development of La Perouse headland involves transitioning the existing Cable House museum into a newer, larger museum throughout Bare Island Fort. This will provide both the space for exhibitions as well as reactivate the the island into a more frequently visited destination.

The existing Cable House will then be converted into a music and dance orientated community hub for local La Perouse residents, that will provide spaces for events, performances and the development of creative arts skills. Additionally, Macquarie Tower will be used as a central point of site activation by incorporating a public cafe and observation deck on its upper level.

Each different zone will be designed for its individual functionality, though will follow an overall design scheme throughout the entirety of the site. This will be achieved through the use of textural materials that reflect the life at sea of initial Australian settlers as well as using existing points of observation as central focal points for visitors to the headland and island.
