ILLUMINATE ‘La Perouse’

Low income, sickness, incarceration, poverty, low levels of education, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney ailments, early death and more, are issues plaguing some of Sydney’s disadvantaged and native community. These issues that are evident through statistics, should be seen as shattered fragments in our society. The remedial multipurpose ILLUMINATE ‘La Perouse’, aims to provide an accessible societal hub that responds to the history of the site, with programs that create awareness, provide therapeutic outlets and celebrates the community native to La Perouse. The centre will offer empowerment, promote equality, and simultaneously provide civic engagement, ultimately illuminating the past to reimagine the future of the site.
