The Guriwal Centre aims to spread awareness, foster the development, and push the boundaries of design and making in the 21st century. With consideration for the rich history of the site, the precinct provides a foundation to preserve and evolve traditional notions of craft into the future; seeking to re-establish and develop our understanding of craft in a post modern society that has become simultaneously connected to design through social media and disconnected through off shore manufacturing and globalisation.

The world class museum is designed as a platform for increasing the awareness of design and making, whether steeped in rich cultural history, or at the forefront of future sustainable technology. Whilst community focused spaces are designed as a catalyst for cultural exchange and interaction between frequently disconnected local communities of diverse backgrounds, offering classes, talks and events for upskilling and educating members of the community.
