Art Club

This new civic concept - focuses on the notion that we speak to the arts as a universal language - seeking to not only expand the repertoire of the spatial typologies in which art is viewed, but how it is interacted with and how it can bring us all together in both the interior environment and through a connection to country.

La Perouse - evolving from purpose built, rigid and confrontational - to a place of visual lust, whimsy and novelty – putting La Perouse back on the map.

Its materiality and form furthermore challenging the sites past: layered, carved, etched, and tectonically repeated to suggest the layers of complexity in the sites history and change on site both then and now.
Blurring the lines of the old and new to make users question the present and its opportunities.

Each space is an ensemble of forms - not lending to one overpowering or overarching element. new, old, light, dark, vertical, horizontal, narrow, wide, low and high.
This complexity of materiality furthermore underpinning the complexity of the sites history through its vast range of programmatic variables.
