PARADIGM SHIFT

Set within the near future possibilities of technology and the space-time continuum, PARADIGM SHIFT aims to re-discover La Perouse as a series of pocket universes and alternate realities through the expedition of the headland and Bare Island. The concept of alternate realities allows this project to continuously reference its cultural and historical significance as an element of landscape, where the site allows visitors to discover the universe of the past. Embarking on a journey through the La Perouse headland, the visitor is prompted to discover oneself through their individual adventure of the site, creating unforgettable experiences.

Acknowledging the cultural and historical context of the site, PARADIGM SHIFT aims to subtly reference traditional Indigenous culture and their ways of storytelling within their navigational journeys as a parallel universe from the past. PARADIGM SHIFT references the significance of the sky and water for discovery and exploration as well as a catalyst for connection to site and community.
