REM

Rem, is a memory archive that serves to immortalise people through written/typed, audio and haptic methods, of memory storage, regardless of race, gender, or class. Perceptions are ever changing and the truth is constantly being pursued. In a society where history is written by the winners, the Memorium challenges this idea, where the fortunate, the unfortunate and the ordinary are given a voice. The Memorium allows the public to be enlightened by the memories of others, and are able to form their own truth or perception of their history.

La Perouse, the site in which the Memorium resides, exists a profound and fragile history of Indigenous Australia that is unknown and uncharted by visitors. In response to land's 'memory loss', the lack of evidence of the the significance events that took place on La Perouse, the Memorium acts as a place that restores and immortalises these memories for future generations. In the hopes of allowing Indigenous Australians to record their truth, it will allow the rest of the world to attain new perceptions and awareness of those around them. Even after death, the Memorium serves to remember the ordinary, the fortunate, and the unfortunate. "
