SK/N

SK/N an exploration of virtual technology in modern and future civic spaces with the need for physical multi-sensory engagement in our ocularcentric milieu. The name, SK/N, is derived from notions of physicality, a barrier between us and the world, but also the digital skin that virtual realities apply to our surroundings.
This experiential project is grounded in the La Perouse site representing australia’s most significant change in the history and development of our country. It stands as a place where we can involve, inspire and immerse local and international visitors in issues surrounding the increasing use of technology including the line between virtual and actual, the impact of e-waste and the lack of multi-sensory stimulation.
Predominantly a community focused inclusive site, SK/N also features supporting auxiliary spaces to regenerate and promote Australia’s innovative nature including a community makerspace and a theatrette for small scale talks.
