Tjukurpa

TJUKURPA is a dedicational message towards the aboriginal people, and to the society in general today. This project is about reclaiming a sense of cultural identity for the indigenous people who have lost their place in society, and to finally speak the unspeakable acts that scarred their nation. History of the site should not over shadow what La Perouse has offered to the people. But rather, let it be a site that influences and teach our nation to no longer strip away humanity from its place, but to stand tall together as one - the indigenous and non-indigenous nation.

The term “TJUKURPA” refers to the present and future and the foundation of life and society.

The ethos of this project runs under the living practice of TJUKURPA ,to publicise how we can use design, art and culture to define relationship between people, nature and land, what they mean and how they must be maintained. And create a period where our nation can be revitalised for the indigenous population as a force to be reckoned with.
