What is a camera obscura? Well In Latin, the words mean “dark room,”

A camera obscura is an empty room without light but for a small pinhole in one wall. That light then comes through that pinhole projecting a scene from outside on the opposite wall

Photography started with a simple device known today as the “camera obscura.”

So why photography and why is it important to my design.

Essentially the purpose of photography is to communicate and document moments in time.

When you take a photograph and share it with others, you’re sharing a moment that was frozen through a picture.

Photos represent what's important , captures history, they tell stories and evoke emotion, it is a form of self-expression, it inspires and builds connections with others. All these reasons make it incredibly useful to society and why my design revolves around it.

This is my project obscura, a place for preserving and reflecting on our past and building our future through photography and creative arts.
