PSIL.O

Centre for Research + Education on the Design of Happiness

PSIL.O operates as a research centre for the “design of happiness” - a mental health research facility. Focusing on restoring the wellbeing of Rozelle, and consequently the wider international community, PSIL.O aims to house rotational exhibitions led by community creatives on the multi-faceted character of “mental health” and what this truly means but more importantly, how can recovery be aided through innovative strategies researched within the facility itself.

In partnership with Inner West Council’s Mental Health Month, PSIL.O will harbour rotational exhibitions featuring local artists and creatives to showcase their views on mental illness, and more importantly, recovery. This highlights the multi-faceted nature of mental health and is a stepping-stone in creating a better understanding of mental health and recovery methods which may not always be conventional.

Following the concept of neurogenesis within the construct of PSIL.O facilitates research into modern medicine and what alternatives this can include to restore neurons. Through experience-based education, PSIL.O plans to facilitate this through answering (and having other creatives answer) the question:

How can we make tangible the intangible to share and understand each other?
