THE HUB
The Hub will act as the new centre to cultural and academic life within Rozelle and Greater Sydney. The WBPS is a pinnacle feature as its morphology is distinctive amongst its surrounding site, the hub will aim to stimulate the site and the community to provide a much more sustainable, usable and approachable space. The concept of an ‘idea’ transcends into the spatial narrative of the space. Starting with the library towers where an idea begins, followed by the exhibition space where an idea is presented, lastly the restaurant where the idea is celebrated, and then entry and stairs act as circulation to each of these. Materiality across each of these spaces focus on a harmonious contrast between the existing and proposed site, focusing on how such can be used in a sustainable manner. In this post pandemic world where working from home has become the norm, the hub will provide a 'place' where the community of Rozelle and Greater Sydney can re-stimulate their cultural and academic sector.
