STEM

The White Bay Power Station sits along Sydney's picturesque shoreline and dense leafy suburbia, embedded amongst once rich Indigenous culture. A historic charm, it is time that we sow new life in its soil, we reuse and let the White Bay Power Station spread its roots into its full potential.

‘Stem’ will be a sustainable civic environment, that allows its users to explore creativity through an environmental lens, enrich shared commonalities and provide a place of refuge from the growing nature of dense urban living.

Through a range of interior and exterior programs, the design aims to educate and inspire sustainable behaviour whilst re-connecting its visitors to its Wangal land in which it resides. ‘Stem’ weaves the old and the new, the interior and exterior and land and people to activate the public domain.
