Cinerama
Cinema can emotionally captivate the audience into its storytelling and transport them to other worlds, creating a new sense of reality that no other art form can. The charm of cinema becomes elevated in the movie-going culture and physicality of theatres, implicitly binding people together through shared experiences. The cinematic experience overcomes adversity and brings the community together as it can be personal, communal or both; with its temporal nature residing in the memories of the audience.
Cinerama is a civic centre for cinema and the performing arts, intended to revitalise and progress the tactility of cinematic spaces towards immersive storytelling and engaging social connections.
The four pillars of Cinerama include:
Social & Environmental Sustainability: To socialise and retreat to a place filled with entertainment and vibrant outdoor spaces.
Innovative Interactions: Engaging oneself into the cinematic realm with existing and emerging technologies.
Participation in Culture: Interacting with cultural facilities involving performing arts, film, and the history of the White Bay Power Station
Adapting to Change: Gain new experiences of the past, present and emerging future narrative of theatres and films as a collective audience.
