THE OIKOS
Stimulation to a child's brain improves cognition and development for learning. Brain development thrives from childhood experienced and the only form of evidence is from children who have suffered trauma or abuse. During a global pandemic, orders to stay indoors has caused the rate of child physical abuse to reach lin 33 children. Child abuse occurs behind closed doors and when doors are opened it is critical for children to escape the abuse and reach out into an environment that creates stimulation, learning and most importantly, fun. In a community it is important for people to provide a sense of guidance and attention to the youth and allow them to discover themselves. Children congregate into spaces where they feel at home and safe and specifically, places that promote fun. Through the Oikos, these aspects are qualities that children can learn to express and feel throughout the space.
